First impressions: Thule 2013 racks and bags

This is one for the avid photographers among you. If you like to take your pride and joy out to capture the excitement of riding, then you’ll want to make sure that everything rides with you safe and sound.

The Perspektiv is the largest of Thule’s three camera bags, designed for when you want to take everything out with you so you’re prepared for every eventuality. This bag has the works; there are so many features I’m not even sure what some of them do, which is why we’re getting an expert to test this.

Welded and taped critical seams, DWR treated fabric and sealed zips aim to keep the worst of the weather at bay, plus an internal ‘SafeZone’ provides a padded, secure section for very fragile equipment.

There’s space for a whopping 7 lenses, plus a 15” laptop compartment. The internal spaces is adjustable so you can set the compartments up to suit your kit, and there are myriad pockets for popping everything you could conceivably need from your rain coat to your notebook.

It’s designed to be the right size to fit in the hand luggage compartment on airplanes, and has a special strap system that aims to keep the bag stable and secure when being worn.

Our reviewer – a photographer – will put the bag through its paces to see if it really does stand up to some tough use and what it’s like to ride with.
