Shalford Parish Council state that in their opinion they’ve got the best Tour de France viewing point in Essex, so pitching up there for the Grand Depart might be a good bet. They’re providing camping pitches in the grounds of the Village Hall, which literally borders the Tour de France route – good views guaranteed.
You won’t have to go hungry or thirsty as the pro peloton pass by either, as there’ll be a beer tent and barbecue on hand. All that’s left is for the sun to shine! Fingers crossed.
