Ireland offers some of the most spectacular riding in Europe.

The Great Gorilla Ride, Northamptonshire (MIXED)

September 6th

Starting in the little historic market town of Oundle, riders will set off on either a 45, 71 or 109 mile route through the Northamptonshire countryside popping in and out of some of the surrounding counties too. Each of the routes offers a fair few tough climbs and technical descents but all riders will be rewarded with a hot meal and a pint of beer post-ride. Entrance costs between £21-£26.

An Post Rás na mBan, Ireland (WOMEN ONLY)

September 9th-13th

Ireland’s premier women’s bike race, An Post Ras na mBan lasts five days and is made up of six challenging stages. Across the course of the event all participants will cycle more than 400km as they compete in one of the most difficult yet most enjoyable stage road races through beautiful Irish countryside.

Ladies of the Lake, Coniston Water (WOMEN ONLY)

September 13th

The organisers of Sportive Lakes hosted their first women’s only sportive last year to encourage more ladies to participate in the event. The Ladies of the Lake sportive is much more sociable and relaxed than the regular mixed sportives and there are two routes (52 and 62km) to choose from, the shortest of which is ideal for first time entrants.
