Katy Curd is arguably the best female 4x rider in the UK. She is 3 time British 4X Champion, 2010 Downhill National Series Champion, 2012 European 4X Champion, 2013 4x Pro Tour winner as well as having 7 other World Cup Podiums.
She began riding at a young age, and racing in 2006. Known on the World Cup scene for a few years, she originally concentrated her efforts on downhill before focusing more on 4x. As part of her sponsorship with Rose bikes, Katy was responsible for helping design ‘The Bruce’, working alongside Rose to design a bike specifically suited to her. She quit her job in 2010 to focus on her riding career, and now travels all over the world racing and riding bikes. She is also a CTC qualified mountain bike instructor and she holds coaching sessions in Ashton Court, Forest of Dean and Gawton.
Born on 27 April 1989 in Wiltshire, to parents Mike and Alison, Katy began racing after a friend encouraged her to try it. In 2011 she suffered severe injury, coming back in 2012 with only three months to train for the season. Her career highlights include; 2007 Junior World championship Downhill silver medallist, 2009 National 4X series champ and 3rd at Val Di Sole World Cup 4X in 2010.
