We couldn’t resist including the top of the range all-mountain carbon dream bike from Santa Cruz’s Juliana female specific range, and what’s more it’s a 29er too.
The Joplin Primeiro full suspension mountain bike may well cost more than most people’s cars but in our mind every good mountain bike should! Seriously though, it’s a hefty price tag and you’re paying for a top-end female specific frame in lightweight carbon fibre. The suspension system is the proven VPP (Virtual Pivot Point) design with 100mm Fox Float rear shock and Fox 32 Float 120mm fork with 3-step trail adjustment with Climb/Trail/Descend adjustments.
The Joplin has XC capabilities for a lively climbing experience, and once you’ve hit the top you can throw it back down the hill with all the confidence a stable platform and highly responsive suspension design can give you.
Components are Shimano XT with own brand Juliana compact bars and grip system, stem, seatpost and saddle – all designed for women riders and appropriate in length or width for the frame size.
If you want Shimano’s top end XTR groupset then you’ll be looking at an aluminium frame whereas the Joplin Premeiro has taken the path for the lightest frame choice, you can upgrade the components if your budget allows, but you’ll never need to upgrade the frame.
