The atmosphere at the start line in Bury St Edmunds was electric this morning at hundreds of spectators lined the streets to catch a glimpse of their idols. And thankfully the racing didn’t disappoint either – there were breakaways, climbs and a bunch sprint to conclude proceedings with Lizzie Armitstead taking the top spot.
Unfortunately however Lizzie’s elation was short lived due to a crash just moments from the line.
