Rapha’s New Women’s Range is Bigger and Better than Ever
Rapha's offering for women seems to be getting better and better. TWC take a closer look at what the high-end brand have on offer for Spring/ Summer 15. Beware... your credit card may have to take a bashing after reading this...
Let’s face it, Rapha has formed somewhat of a cult following across Britain. And we don’t mean one of those creepy kind of cults, we mean the type of gang we aspire to be a part of. This is in part due to the boundaries it pushes when it comes to the style and quality synonymous with Rapha. But as a woman, it is also due to the commitment the brand has made to the female market.
Review: Rapha Merino Wool Tops
Sharp lines and clean edges punctuate bold colours splattered across the women’s performance range. Staples such as the Classic Bibs, Wind Jacket, Gilet, and Jersey have remained relatively untouched, with just minor adjustments to colours which is testament to their popularity year after year.
The performance range includes five jersey options in a range of colours, six different styles of shorts including a Capri, bib and short and five jacket styles. Not to mention a vast array of accessories on offer.
Cycle fashion: How to not look like a typical cyclist
Rapha certainly cannot be painted with the same brush as some other brands looking to penetrate the female market. There is not a sniff of shrink it and pink it here. Instead it feels like Rapha is trail blazing, creating cycling clothing that women really want.
Aside from those infamous Classic Bib Shorts, my favourite elements of Rapha’s women’s offering are undoubtedly nestled within the City range. Made up of office friendly attire that looks as good off the bike as it feels on it, Rapha has really got the commuter chic look spot on.
How to: Look fresh after your commute
Rapha has managed to cover all of the bases in its city range. My favourite outfit is the sleeveless shirt (£90) and turn up shorts (£80). The shirts has been designed with a cotton front and merino back allowing it to wick away sweat super efficiently as you make your way from meeting to meeting – genius!
The shorts are made from a lightweight fabric featuring a high waist and super subtle reflective detailing. Elsewhere in the range you can expect flattering merino tanks and t-shirts, patterned scarves (perfect for combating helmet hair!), leggings and of course the jeans that received a rave review previously on TWC.
