8 of the Best Overshoes for Winter Riding

Keep those toes from going numb with these booties and toe covers

The season of chilly winter riding is here, and there’s nothing better than getting outside and pedalling away as the crisp air roses up your cheeks.  Although winter riding can only really be enjoyed when you’re well equipped to fight off the biting chill, and one area to really suffer is your feet.

Because your road cycling shoes are slim and snug, your socks are constructed from a thin and breathable fabric, the cold temperatures can easily rip right through. The best thing to help keep the cold at bay, is investing in some good quality overshoe booties, or toe caps.

How to handle cycling on winter roads

For me, a ride can be quickly cut short if my hands and feet begin to go numb. I feel less stable and less confident in my ability to pedal, and even brake. So when it comes to keeping your extremities warm on the bike, it’s worth spending the money so you don’t find yourself heading home early, and in discomfort.

We’ve rounded up some of the best overshoe booties and toe caps to help keep you pedalling throughout winter.

SealSkinz Neoprene Halo Overshoe

In addition to these features, these overshoes are thermal, windproof and water resistant making them ideal for your dark commutes and cold winter rides.
