Want a really challenging cycling event? Something that will give you loads of motivation to work towards over the summer?
The Etape Cymru is the evet to aim for at the end of the season; it’s not called ‘UK’s toughest sportive’ for nothing. 88 miles (141km) might not sound like a lot, but when you’ve got one of the most leg-burning climbs in the British Ilses involved, you know you’re in for a hard but amazing ride.
The main climb in question is the Horseshoe Pass; 6.1 km of climbing, with a gradient that at some points reaches 20%! It’s challenging – but achievable. The roads are closed just for the race though, so you don’t have to think about traffic, and just get on with the buiness of riding.
The main charity partner for the event is Macmillan Cancer Care.
Distance: 88miles / 141km
