The Red Bull Fox Hunt with Rachel Atherton is going to be a mountain biking weekend with a festival vibe, culminating in you chance to pit your skills against a World Champion in an event which sees the role of fox and hunter reversed.
Two hundred women, the hunters, will start off down the scenic course just outside of Edinburgh. Then, after the head start, Rachel Atherton aka the Fox, will follow them down and attempt to overtake as many of the hunters as possible before reaching the finish line. With a wide, open course, plenty of line choice, and easy and hard lines through sections, it’s accessible and fun. It could just be the perfect autumn challenge!

Rachel herself is pretty stoked about the event. “I am so excited about Red Bull Foxhunt. It’s an opportunity for UK female mountain bikers to come together at an epic location, with an awesome atmosphere, to see if any of them can let the brakes go and hold me off long enough to not get caught! Knowing the skill level of the ladies, I know I will have my work cut out!”

However, the course itself won’t be cut into the hill until a few days before the event, so there’s no chance to get a few sneaky runs in before Rachel gets there.
Also, there are cattle and horses grazing in the area so please please don’t try and ride it yet! You’ll have plenty of time to scope it out at the event weekend.
The whole shebang costs a measly £5 to enter, and £10 for camping. There’ll be goody bags, a camp fire, barbecue, a bar – the works. We’ll be going and we hope to see you there!
