10 Brilliant Easter Holiday Cycling Activities for Families

We've got lots of ideas for fun, family friendly cycling events over the Easter holidays.

7. Kids Velodrome Track Cycling Sessions, Manchester

If you’ve got a budding Trott, Storey or Pendleton in the family, then this is the perfect opportunity to give them the chance to try track cycling.

Supported by Francis Transport, nine to 16 year olds will be able to join hour-long sessions with two coaches, and see how fast they can go in a one lap time trial, winning a certificate and waterbottle on the way.

There are bikes and shoes available to hire, so you don’t need to have your own kit, and track cycling is a lot of fun. Availability is limited though, so make sure you contact the National Cycling Centre to check there is space and book on.

Dates: 7th to 18th April

The Tamsin trail which runs around the perimeter of the park is a great traffic free route that will take you past ponds, patches of forest, and lots of open space – you’ll barely notice you’re in London at all!

Richmond Park also makes a great picnic spot, whether you prefer setting up camp on a bright open field or sitting on a fallen tree in the woods. Don’t forget to look out for some of the hundreds of deer that live there!

Easily accessible by train and tube, if you don’t have a bike yourself there’s a cycle rental service available.
