Scotland: Cullen to Garmouth
Scotland: Cullen to Garmouth
This is a 14 mile ride on a mixture of road and off-road, gravel surfaces along the National Cycle Network Route One.
The mainly traffic-free stretch begins from Cullen, and travels along the old railway viaduct into the port of Portknockie – which means ‘the hilly port’.
The railway path sticks to the coastline, to Findochty, before crossing the A943, and heading inland to Buckie, a linear town which follows the sea.
After Buckie, mixed roads lead to Moray Firth Wildlife Centre, home to dolphins, seals and more, before rejoining the disused railway line to cross the River Spey and then on to Garmouth.
Length: 14 miles, can continue along Route One
