Kent: The Viking Coastal Trail
Kent: The Viking Coastal Trail
This is a circular route that offers a view of the Kentish Coastline, around Margate and Ramsgate, with an inland stretch to give you a breather on a windy day.
Traffic will be far from your mind most of the way, as 54% of the route is off-road.

The inland section covers country lanes, passing Minster Abbey, which dates back 670AD and has been a place of worship for over 1,400 years.
A detour leads to Monkton Nature Reserve, and then at Ramsgate, you’ll pass the harbour and marina as you enter the seaside section of the ride.
Riding along the sea-wall, you’ll enjoy views of the beaches and rock pools, and the pretty Botany Bay, followed by Minnis Bay, which is popular for swimmers (we hope you brought your goggles!)
Following Minis Bay, you’ll be greeted by views of the flat marshland, before you approach the final destination, Herne Bay.
