We’ve been seeing a great deal of merino wool fabric flooding the cycling market, especially as the colder months roll in.
And why not? Cycling brands, like dhb, have discovered that the unique properties pertaining to merino wool not only makes it great to work with but also, perfect for helping you achieve your best in the saddle. So, it’s no wonder why dhb has chosen to expand their merino collection with some new and innovative pieces.
Because Merino wool has natural anti-bacterial properties, moisture-wicking ability to help regulate body temperature and, of course, a super soft and silky feel, dhb has spent a considerable time working with the fabric to enhance your ride with their new merino collection… and just in time for the winter bite too!
dhb’s Merino Women’s Long-Sleeve Jersey
dhb is no stranger to harnessing the benefits of merino wool. After years of lengthy testing and development, they’ve perfected a recipe which has led to the launch of two new women’s cycling jerseys, in addition to a merino collection revamp.
There is a long-sleeve and short-sleeve merino women’s jersey now available both of which utilise the natural properties of merino. However, dhb’s innovative technology has blended the fabric with polypropylene so it becomes more flexible and hydrophobic, keeping the moisture away from the skin so it can evaporate straight from the fabric.
dhb’s new merino wool long-sleeve jersey is soft and comfortable to wear on the ride. It has a full-length zipper, three rear cargo pockets, a zip stash pocket, silicone grip on the hem and finished off with reflective detail to help keep you visible in low-light conditions.
Having gotten revved and prepared for a number of rides this autumn, I still find myself reaching out for the gorgeous raspberry coloured long-sleeve jersey first. It’s become my go-to jersey and there’s a number of reasons for that…
First of all, I love the fit. It’s long enough on the body to ensure great coverage and preventing any annoying lower-back draught from creeping up. The material is incredibly soft and will remain that way if washed carefully as per the instructions, and unlike other woollen fabrics, dhb’s long-sleeve jersey didn’t lose shape or colour after washing – hurray!
dhb’s merino women’s long-sleeve jersey is wonderfully versatile also. It’s thin, warm and moves great with the body, but it’s still possible to slip a vest underneath, or a heavier jacket on top making it ideal for those who love to layer – definitely one to last throughout winter and into Spring.
