Start: Waltham Cross, High Street
Finish: Stevenage, High Street
Total distance: 103 km/65 miles
Known as Laura Trott’s “home stage” this route celebrates the area where the Matrix Pro Cycling rider and Olympic Champion grew up.
The winding lanes have been described as “similar to the roads of the Northern European Classics” – thanks to short, sharp rises and long stretches through exposed fields.
Similar to stages one and two, a bunch sprint is likely to be on the cards, but a breakaway could succeed thanks to the twists and turns which will slow a larger peloton down more than a small and select group or solo rider.
