The Friends Life Womens Tour, 17 – 21 June
One of the most exciting races in the women’s cycling calendar comes to British soil with the Women’s Tour, now in its second year.
Unlike many races which link up with men’s “equivalents”, the Women’s Tour is dedicated to showcasing women’s cycling and last years winner Vos told SkySports.com: “The Tour of Britain was fantastic – and what was even better was it was an event on its own… Britain is ahead of the rest of the world in terms of women’s cycling. The crowds were amazing.”

The race this year will consist of 5 stages, based in the East of England, with more specific locations being revealed from January onwards. Organisers are making an effort to offer spectators the opportunity to see more than one stage, suggesting much of the racing will take place in a consolidated area.
