Tour of California, 8 May – 10 May & 15 May
The Amgen Tour of California has extended its women’s race this year to comprise of 4 days – 3 solid days of racing, and an individual time trial on the 15th.
Top Tips for Training on your Road Bike
The first two days of racing will begin at South Lake Tahoe, with stage 3 starting from Sacremento, on the same day the men’s race begins. The time trial kicks off at the Big Bear Lake alongside the men’s TT.
In previous years, the women’s events have consisted of a criterium race and time trial only. The crit was held over a 2km circuit, with 60 minutes of racing, which was won by Carmen Small (Specialized-Lululemon), whilst the 20.1km TT winner was Alison Powers (UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling) in a time of 27:20.
