Specialized have two main women’s road bike ranges over £1500, the Amira is their new range and focuses on racing, while the Ruby range is more about comfort and endurance for sportives or Gran Fondo’s.
The Ruby Pro featured is the top model and features a FACT carbon frame with OSBB and Zertz vibration dampers to minimise the negative impact of harsh roads and road buzz. The monocoque carbon FACT fork is stiff and responsive but has more damping Zertz inserts to enhance comfort too.
More carbon can be found on the Specialized Pro carbon crankset and the groupset is a mixture of 11 speed Shimano Dura-Ace (derailleurs, shifters/brake levers,) and Ultegra (brakes, cassette and chain).
The wheelset is Rovals Fusee SLX with DT Swiss internals and an asymmetric rear rim for performance and strength. If you can’t stretch to £4k then it’s worth comparing the Ruby bikes lower down the range where the technology filters through but at a more affordable price.
