Here is our selection of six women’s road bikes over £1500 from the huge range available, we’ve tried to cover the whole price range right up to £4000 including the usual big name manufacturers and some smaller, but no less important steeds too.
As it’s such a wide price range you would be right to expect an enormous variety in specifications as well as frame technology. However, you can be assured of a carbon frame and fork combo with a £1500+ price tag. In terms of groupset, you shouldn’t settle for anything less than Shimano’s reliable and race ready 105 or Campagnolo’s Veloce.

Obviously, the more you spend on a women’s road bike, the lighter the frame and components tend to be, and the more carbon fibre seat posts and bars you’ll find too. Frame materials vary in terms of quality and the manufacturing processes used, the shape of the tubes and their ride feel is determined by this – some frames even offer enhanced compliance and shock absorption.
We’ve covered options for all types of riders, from serious race warriors right through to endurance junkies. The bike geometry and ride position may differ to deliver the required ride feel, but rest assured both options have specific female specific geometry for a suitable fit for women riders.
