Your eyes are not deceiving you, this jacket does look very similar to the long sleeve jersey we’ve just featured but trust us – it’s very different. It feels more rigid as the fabric is thicker to help protect you from the wind, while at the same time the soft shell stretch material ensures that it’s comfortable and easy to move around in while in the saddle.

Although the Show Softshell Jacket is touted as being windproof, the fabric does not boast the official Windstopper® technology, unlike it’s sister model the Vento WS Jacket. This doesn’t mean it lacks wind protection, but we’ll report just how windproof it is in the indepth reviews.

The collar of the jacket is tall and covers most of the neck, being slightly higher at the back.  Combined with a panel of material behind the full-length zipper, the wind will have a tough job penetrating this jacket.

Like with the jersey, other features include 3 external rear pockets, a band of elastic around the hem of the jacket instead of silicone grippers and reflective detailing on the back.

Just remember as with most Italian brands, sizes come up small, so for our UK size 10 model, the medium jacket fitted perfectly. In terms of length, from top of the collar to the bottom of the hem on the back, the length was 74cm (just over 29 inches).
