Another set of bib shorts with a slight variation on the straps, the Capo Cipressa bibs offer more coverage as the torso section is essentially a mesh top. There’s no inbuilt sports bra, so the straps are easy to slide on and off, great for those pit stops.
Moving on to the chamois pad. As the Cipressa bibs are in Capo’s top of the line collection, I’m expecting big things, especially after reading some glowing reviews of the men’s chamois on various other cycling websites. The elastic interface pad has high-density foam inserts strategically placed in the key areas, and the top layer of the fabric is treated, providing anti-bacterial protection.
Like with the Cipressa jersey, the bib shorts are constructed from a number of panels of varying fabric. HG Lycra® coldblack® and Carbon Lycra® regulate temperature and when we tried the size medium on, we welcomed the compression feel offered by these bibs in the legs.
The hems are made of an elastic band, varying from the fabric used in the leg portion. On the inside there are the standard silicone gripper dots, to help keep the legs from riding up. Unlike the jersey, the leg length (21cm, roughly 8 1/4″ from the middle of the crotch seam) on the shorts was great, not too short or too long, just right.
