Let’s make no bones about it, Capo’s G.S range of kit is aimed at lean mean cycling machines. The Italian influence in the gear not only extends to the smaller sizing, but also the beautifully styled designs.
The fit is figure hugging and the length from collar to hem on the Medium test is a rather short 62cm (roughly 24.5″) so we’d recommend going up a size from what you’re used to buying. However, there’s no elastic around the waist or silicone grippers, so you don’t need to worry about it riding up in that respect.
Probably the most noticeable feature of the Cipressa 2.0 is the material the jersey is constructed from. It’s silky smooth – like a t-shirt that’s been worn in over the years – you just want to get wearing it, it’s that inviting. The various panels are made from different fabrics, including High Stretch Compression Lycra® with Meryl ActiSystem® matched with Silver deliver lightweight technical performance.
Essentially, what that means is that the front panels of the Cipressa jersey are silky smooth and help block wind. Under the arms there is a mesh that helps keep you cool and another slightly different material that does the same job of aiding breathability in a panel down the spine. We were blown away by the initial feel of the jersey, let’s hope it does well in the test!
In terms of pockets, there are four, the standard three across the back and an additional zipped one the front of the middle rear pocket. The zipped pocket is great for your valuables, such as your phone, as it also has a special lining to stop it from being affected by your sweat.
The two zippers on the jersey have locking cams; once pushed flat against the material they won’t move. They’re also incredibly easy to open – when you’re climbing up a hill, the last thing you want when you’re sweating is a zip that snags and catches.
In short, we can’t wait to get this jersey on to test!
