Muc-Off has launched an athlete protection range that claims to improve and boost performance right through from warm-up to recovery.
Four products make up the range- Luxury Warm Up Cream, Explosive Power Cream, Ultra Endurance Cream and Muscle Recovery Balm.
Here’s the lowdown on each:
The Luxury Warm Up Cream is equipped with what Muc Off call an ‘intelligent heating system’ which apparently controls the temperature it provides to you while warming up your legs pre-ride.
Explosive Power claims to improve the availability of oxygen and nutrients to your muscles, so you feel real increases in strength and energy. During intense training and competition, waste products like lactic acid and ammoniac can build up and decrease your performance. Muscles are also naturally broken down during exercise and proteins, which are built from groups of amino acids, play the vital role of building and repairing muscles. Muc-Off claim that the benefit of using Amino acids in a cream is that you can feel them working almost instantly as they are being delivered into the bloodstream directly through the muscles rather than having to be ingested like tablets.
Ultra Endurance Cream uses Taurine Amino acids in order to get to work straight away. These convert Glycogen into Glucose to fuel your muscles, increasing protein synthesis which in turn keeps your muscles feeling fresher for longer.
Muscle Recovery Balm aims to get you back on the bike again after a hard session as soon as possible. The product uses Amino Glutamine which has been proved to increase glycogen storage and help hydrate muscle cells which in turn contributes to a speedier recovery period.
