Over the past week, Evans Cycles have been running women-only evenings, with their ‘One for the Girls’ series.
With two down and one left to run – in Cardiff – we take a look at the women’s reaction to the events and give you details of the remaining date.
Last week saw two women-only events take place in Evans Cycles Manchester and London stores. The women who attended were treated to talks on different bike-related topics, with food and fizz flowing throughout the evening.
Not only did the women receive a goody bag, they could also try on female specific stock normally only available online, creating evenings that have been a roaring success.
I enjoyed all the talks… They were the right topics, length of duration and content. I thought they were spot on. I found everyone really helpful on the night.
Attendees were treated to sessions on bike fit, mechanics, nutrition and clothing. There was even the chance to chat to Anna Glowinski, designer of the stylish Ana Nichoola cycle clothing range.
All the talks were really useful and enjoyable. I found the interaction with the group, particularly at the end, useful and it was great to hear the experiences of other female riders.
One of the most commented-on elements of the evening was the opportunity for women to meet other women who ride. 92% of women who attended said they would recommend the experience to a friend.
A lot of women came alone and were saying they wanted to meet more women – my favourite thing about the evening was actually chatting to other women, including Anna Glowinski and some of the Evans team.
If you missed out on these first two events, and you live in or near South Wales, there is still the chance to get involved.
The final evening of the series takes place in Cardiff, on Wednesday 3rd July, from 6.00 to 8.00pm. We’d suggest you book ASAP, as the other sessions filled up quickly!

The organisers at Evans have been bowled over by the support you’ve shown for these events, so watch this space – there may be more coming!
We’re so pleased that we’ve been able to give something back to women’s cycling. We are aware there is demand for these events in more stores across the country, and we’re keen to find a way we can roll these out in more locations
