Dame Sarah Storey to take on UCI Hour Record

Attempt will take place in February 2015 as part of the Revolution Series

Dame Sarah Storey – the UK’s most decorated Paralympian – will attempt to break the female UCI hour record in London early next year.

The attempt will be part of Round 5 of the Revolution Series at the Lee Valley VeloPark. The previous record of 46.065km was set by Dutch cyclist Leontien Zijlaard-van Moorsel in 2003.

The attempt will also serve as an excellent warm-up, as Storey will be taking part in the Individual Pursuit, 500m Time Trial and Scratch Race at the Para-cycling Track World Championships in March.

After Jens Voigt and Matthias Brändle took to breaking the men’s record with such gusto, we reckon it’s about time a woman had a go, and who could be better than Sarah Storey?

The event will take place on Saturday 28th February 2015. Tickets are available here.
