Back for the fifth year in a row, Club Peloton’s PedElle event successfully raises over £30,000 for the children’s charity, Coram. Over 40 women from the property industry teamed up to tackle a mighty 500km cycle trip through Portugal in the scorching heat.
Setting out from Porto, the army of road cycling women covered 500km and 7,800m of climbing in just three days, ending their advetnure in the stunning location of Lisbon.
“We had an incredible group of women, who just kept going! It has been wonderful to see the event grow” – Claire Treanor
The PedElle event through Portfugal enabled the riders to work together in a peloton format. Riders benefited from a pro rider experience, with full crew support in the form of lead car, mechanic, paramedic and sports injury therapists, catering and a luggage van, which enabled them to deal with everything that they faced on the ride and concentrate purely on cycling.
Over two thirds of the £34,000 raised will be donated to the UK’s first children’s charity, Coram. This organisation helps find safe and loving homes for some of the UK’s most vulnerable children, including those who have suffered from abuse and neglect since birth.
