Trek’s Mynx S 2013 at £950 is not only defined by being female specific but the geometry and components are specific on their smallest 14inch bike. The Rockshox Recon forks have 80mm travel on the smallest bike size and 100mm on the larger 15.5, 17 and 18.5 inch sizes, but all are treated to the remote lock-out feature so you can turn off the suspension without having to stop.
Trek have opted for the traditional 26 inch sized wheels for all frame sizes and also a triple chainring set-up providing 30 gear options. Gear changes are the hardworking and reliable Shimano Deore with upgraded Shimano XT front and rear derailleurs for precise gear changes. The internal cable routing to the front derailleur is a neat feature seen mostly on higher priced bikes. Trek also offer 29ers in the women specific Cali range with the Cali SL costing £1100.
