Close to the cultural city centre of Bristol there are a series of brilliant purpose built mountain trails all easily reached by bike. The 50 Acre Wood trails is made up of rocky and rooty sections, tough climbs, logs, optional drop-offs and finishes with a rocky descent.

The city’s two mountain bike centres, Ashton Court and Leigh Woods, both have short blue and red runs with some technical features ideal for training on. If you’re looking to discover a lesser known off-road trail, Bristol Mountain Bike Club organise regular long-distance social rides along varying routes that could be perfect for you.
