Pop over to Ebay, and you could own a piece of racing history, and support two very good causes at the same time.
How? Rachel Atherton, World Champion and World Cup Champion, is auctioning off a complete set of her 2013 kit – the year she won the ‘double’. The auction is live now on Ebay, and all proceeds go to two excellent causes; Wheels for Life, and Halton Haven Hospice, which are close to Rachel Atherton’s heart.
What are you bidding on? Rachel Atherton’s full GT Factory Racing 2013 racekit, complete with goggles, gloves, kneepads, shorts, and of course her raceshirt with the all important No.1 on it.
Wheels for Life is a charity set up by former MTB World Champion Hans Rey, and it’s mission is simple; provide bicycles to people in developing countries. The humble bike can make a huge difference, increasing access to education, allowing easier transportation to work, and helping healthcare workers travel further and reach more people. They’ve provided over 5,000 bikes to people in 22 difference countries.
The Halton Haven Hospice provides palliative care for those whose illness is treatable but not curable. They focus on skilled nursing and medical care in a tranquil, peaceful setting.

With just over 6 days to go, the bidding has already raised over £550, so spread the word! And if that’s a bit more cash than you have right now, you can donate directly (and easily) to both organisations – every amount helps, and every amount makes a difference.
