Ottilie Quince
Ottilie Quince
Since first meeting Ottilie Quince just over a year ago, we have to admit that the TWC team have developed somewhat of a girl crush! Ottilie is simply awesome.
In 2007 it transpired that Ottilie was born with kidney disease. In 2008, her mother became her donor.
Ottilie used to play football for Luton Town Ladies in the third national league, but since her life saving kidney transplant she was told she wasn’t allowed to play competitive football any more due to the placement of her new kidney and the possibility of trauma to the new organ.
GB Transplant Team Need your Help
She started cycling to regain her general fitness post transplant and now she rides for CC Luton and GB Transplant Cycling team. Ottilie has so far won both the time trial and road race at two World Transplant games in Göteborg, Sweden in 2011 and in Durban, South Africa in 2013. She has also won 8 British golds and 4 European golds
Off the bike, Ottilie can be seen commentating from a number of the major road races. Check her awesome pro-rider selfies on Twitter – you’ll see a lot of very familiar faces in there!
