Hairstyles for Helmets: The Braided Pony Tail

Simple steps and a video tutorial showing you how to create a hairstyle that won't get spoilt underneath your bicycle helmet.

The Braided Pony Tail may look super complicated but trust us, if you’re able to create a normal plait, it’s very simple.

Follow these steps and watch the video below to create this beautiful hairstyle that won’t get spoilt underneath your helmet!

Step 1) Take a small section of hair from the front of the head and divide it into three pieces to start the plait.

Step 2) Act like you are creating a normal plait with each piece of hair, however add a bit more hair to the right hand piece before crossing it over to the centre. Repeat this until all the hair has been plaited and secure with an elastic hair band. This will create a French plait. To make things easier, instead of creating a French plait you can just create a normal plait all the way down using this section of hair and secure again with an elastic hair band.

Step 4) Scrape all the hair back into a low pony tail and secure with a hair band.

Step 5) Take a small section of hair from the pony tail and wrap it around the hair band and secure with a bobby pin.

Step 6) Spray.
