5 Weird and Wonderful Bicycle Foods

The way to a cyclist's heart is through the stomach, whilst riding a bicycle

We love food. It’s fuel to pedal your pins, keep you going on long adventurous rides, and comfort you during that much needed recovery period.

Recovery: are you doing it properly?

While you make every effort to include all the necessary food groups, vitamins and minerals your body needs to perform its best, there’s always some allowance for treats – especially if those treats are little tasty bicycles!

So if riding your bike isn’t enough. Decorating your house in bicycle trinkets isn’t enough, then rest assured, you can now eat and drink bicycles to satisfy your cycle addiction.

Pasta di Bici

Can you imagine coming home from a gruelling ride, feeling depleted but thoroughly fulfilled, only to sit down to a bowl of delicious pasta bicycles? We can’t think of a better post ride meal.

We ask the expert all about carbohydrates

This pack of 500g pasta comes in an assortment of three colours, containing: semolina, water, spinach and tomato. Available here for £6.

Red Bicyclette Wine

What goes better with your bicycle pasta meal other than a lovely glass of wine? French wine makers Red Bicyclette offer a selection of wine locally grown in France. You can choose from their selection of red, white and rosé bottles. An ideal gift for a cycling enthusiast, or a treat for yourself.

Couple this with an Oopsmark bicycle wine rack for the ride, and you can take it for your journey – although we don’t recommend drinking and riding.

The Bike Race Biscuit Tin

Mmm who doesn’t love a good biscuit? We do, especially dunked in tea after a good training session.

This adorable hand designed bicycle tin comes with a peloton of vanilla biscuits. Each biscuit is lovingly iced with the leader of the peloton adoring the coveted yellow jersey. If you’re planning the social tea-party of the year, these will really impress your cycling friends. Available here for £32.50.

Personalised M&S Cycling Cake

Is there a special birthday coming up? Perhaps you should just celebrate you because no one needs an excuse for cake.

Marks and Spencer offer this mouth-watering butter sponge cake, filled with butter-cream and raspberry jam. It’s professionally iced with sugar paste and royal icing, and you can even get it personalised. Available here for £42.

Chocolate Bike Kit

This list wouldn’t be complete without some lovely milky chocolate in there. Okay, it isn’t as healthy as dark chocolate, but it’s just as tasty.

Is hot chocolate the (not so) guilty secret to recovery?

A bike, helmet, pump, water bottle and a bell, all made out of tasty milk chocolate and decorated with white and dark chocolate highlights. All your riding essentials in one neatly packaged gift box. Available here for £5.30.

I think it’s time to host a bicycle themed dinner party, don’t you?
