Love mountain biking? How do you fancy winning the chance to ride with the one and only MTB World Champion Rachel Atherton, and report back on your experience for Total Women’s Cycling?
Rachel Atherton, a hugely accomplished athlete, is a name that’s legendary in the world of mountain biking. She’s a champion for women’s cycling and is keen to encourage more women to get out there and ride, and that’s a cause that’s close to our hearts too!
We’re offering one lucky Total Women’s Cycling reader the chance for them and a friend to join the GT Factory Racing Experience Day on the 21st of May – a girls day out with a difference!
Scroll down to the end of the page to find out how to enter.
The winner and her friend will take on the role of sports journalists for the day, meeting and riding with Rachel and the rest of the GT Factory Racing team, including Gee and Dan Atherton, Marc Beaumont and Taylor Vernon. They’ll also get the opportunity to experience the resources that go into making GT Factory Racing the world’s fastest downhill team.
They’ll need to capture the spirit of the event, snap great photos, and record the experience as an article that will be published on the home page of Total Women’s Cycling. It’s a money-can’t-buy prize! And sorry guys, this one’s just for women.
About the GT Factory Racing Experience Day:
The Experience Day will take place at Antur Stiniog in North Wales, home of some great downhill MTB trails. With graded trails from a cruisey blue up to a highly technical black, there are options for riders with a range of skill levels.
There’ll be plenty of opportunity to meet with the stars of GT Factory Racing, and find out about the dedicated team and resources that go into making them so successful.
And there’s lots more to come; keep checking back, as we’ll add more details of the day as they come through.
What you can win:
A place for you and a friend on the GT Factory Racing Experience day, taking place in Antur Stiniog, North Wales, on May 21st.
The chance to have your article on the experience published on Total Women’s Cycling.
And we’ll include a Total Women’s Cycling goody bag for good measure!
What do you need to do?
Rachel has shared some of her tips for overcoming your fears when mountain biking with us, like this gem;
“I often find that when I am nervous or I ‘fear’ something, it is because I know deep down that I am not prepared for it. For example if you are scared to try a jump on a trail, you can prepare yourself by doing all the smaller jumps and drops so much that you know you are ready for the next step. If you prepare yourself by taking small steps the end goal is just another step to take.”
Go have a quick read of the ‘How to Overcome Your Fear’ article for inspiration.
We want you to tell us in 150 words or less about a time when you overcame your fear when mountain biking, and what you did to get over it.
All you need to do is complete the form below, and press submit! We’ll get in touch with the winner when the competition closes.
You don’t need to be a world-cup level mountain biker to enter, but you will need to be comfortable and competent riding your mountain bike on blue and red trails.
Don’t forget to spread the word! Share the competition on through twitter and Facebook, and don’t forget to include the tags @AthertonRacing, @dhstiniog and #gtfactoryracingexperience
