The most asked question with regard to bib shorts is always “But what do you do when you need to go to the loo?” Hydration on the bike is super important and it’s inevitable that as you ride longer distances you are going to get short in the middle of nowhere, desperate for the loo.
Bib Shorts: The Joys and Pitfalls
To try and alleviate this problem, brands are now trying to design the ultimate pair of ‘comfort break friendly’ bib shorts. The latest to land on our desks is from Endura. Here are our first impressions of the Endura Pro Bib Shorts:
– On first inspection they look like a regular bib short. The straps are made from a light, breathable mesh while the rest of the shorts are made from a pretty standard lycra that looks like it would offer a certain amount of compression on the legs.

– The chamois is nice and soft and most importantly is seam free. It is not too bulky and looks like it will sit nice and snugly.
– The right leg of the shorts features a zip which opens across the entire back of the short, creating a dropdown for toilet breaks on the go. It is a good idea but we are a little sceptical about the zip itself. It looks like it could potentially nick the skin as it is zipped back up in a hurry.
– We are also intrigued to see if the zip rubs against the skin on the inside of the shorts as it exposed and seems quite rough.
– All in all, we can’t wait to give these a try as they might just be the answer to our biggest complaint with bib shorts.
