Laura Trott is a road and track cyclist from England who specialises in the omnium and team pursuit. She enjoyed an enormously successful start to her racing career, winning two gold medals in her specialist disciplines at her first Olympic Games in London 2012.

She also won four golds and one silver medal at the World Championships between 2010 and 2013 and three golds at the European Championships in 2010 and 2011. Along with teammate Jo Rowsell and Dani King she broke the world record for the Team Pursuit six times in a row at the World Championships and Olympics in 2012. In 2013 she was awarded the Order of the British Empire for services to cycling.

Laura was born in Harlow, Essex in April 1992 but grew up in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. She was born a month prematurely suffering from a collapsed lung and eventually diagnosed with asthma. Doctors recommended she take up cycling in order to help her control her breathing. She was also encouraged to pursue the sport by her mother, who had started riding for exercise and to lose weight. Her older sister Emma is a professional road cyclist and rides for the Dolmans-Boels team.

A sprint specialist, Laura has enjoyed most of her success on the track. However, she rides professionally for the Wiggle Honda team, alongside her Olympic sprint team mates, and recently won the inaugural RideLondon Grand Prix. After the 2012 Olympics, Laura announced that she was in a relationship with fellow Team GB rider and triple gold medallist, Jason Kenny.
