What’s most noticeable about the new Specialized S-Works Prevail II is the lower the profile which creates a closer fit to the head. By re-working the use of EPS multi-density foam and the external skeleton of the design, they’ve shaved the profile down so it fits better and improves safety.
So what else has Specialized changed, and more importantly, how does the new model perform?

Looking at the technology in this helmet then, it’s constructed from a patented Energy Optimized Multi-Density EPS to help manage impact energy, coupled with a patented aramid-reinforced skeleton which provides internal EPS support.

The fitting system uses Mindset HairPort II micro-dial fit technology with height adjustability along with Tri-Fix web splitter for comfort and ease of strap adjustments.
The ventilation of this helmet is pretty well thought through, deep internal channels and large vents have been carefully placed in all the right areas to optimise airflow throughout.
Additional features include reflective detailing to increase rider visibility in low-light conditions and a detachable clip-on visor is included if you need additional sun protection or you fancy a little messy off-road adventuring.
