Finally, a bicycle helmet for all the crazy cat lovers of the world

Cycling has a reputation for being somewhat serious in its approach, attire and attitude, and yet, it’s totally accessible and available for everyone to enjoy. One brand who focus on the individual rider and offer design flares for all personalities is Nutcase helmets.

Nutcase believes helmets should be fun and reflective of the rider. The American-based company works closely with local artists to create stunning bicycle helmets for all riders, all disciples and all-encompassing of the wonderful world of cycling.

One helmet to really stand out for me from Eurobike 2017 was the Nutcase Space Cats Urban Helmet, because, well, it looks awesome.

Nutcase Space Cats Urban Helmet

This urban style helmet may look like a bit of fun, but it means business. Fully certified for cycling, scootering and skating, it still conforms to the safety standards you’d expect from protective headwear.

Constructed from a durable injection-moulded ABS shell, this helmet is packed with EPS foam and Crumple Zone technology to help disperse energy upon impact. There are eleven vents dotted around the lid to promote airflow throughout and a detachable visor comes equipped if you want a little sun protection.

Using a removable spin dial fit system and Fidlock magnetic buckle, you can adjust the size to fit accordingly. Both systems are easy to use, especially the buckle which fastens together effortlessly without faff.

With a glossy and sparkly finish, this design boasts 360-degree reflectivity which helps keep you visible in low-light conditions.

Nutcase Space Cats Urban Helmet: Verdict

Meow, I could bang on about how amazing cats are and how this design harmoniously aligns to my crazy cat lady personality, but I won’t because I don’t have the inches for it. Let’s just say, it’s a rad design that has me feline fine (not even sorry for that pun).

The helmet comes with additional padding which velcro’s in place inside the lid, which I found to be quite welcomed because I was able to arrange this to suit my comfort needs and optimise for a better fit.

I’ve worn this lid around town and even at the pump track and skateparks where I’m pretty sure, I’m envied by all. The finishing touches, the strong stitching on the straps, the neatness of the product all culminate to a confidence-inspiring product which wears well and will continue to protect me for miles to come.

The Nutcase Space Cats Urban helmet is available in two sizes; small (52cm – 56cm) and medium (56cm – 60cm), and it retails for 80 / ~ £71.
