From 20 to 28 September, the world cycling’s very best are meeting in Ponferrada, in the northwest of Spain, for the 2014 UCI Road World Championships.
We saw an eventful start to the championships with that spectacular Rabo Liv crash just kilometres from the finish line at the Team Time Trial event.
And the excitement is set to continue with the Individual Time Trial (ITT) and the Road Race still yet to play for. The ITT will take place between 14.30 and 16.45 on Tuesday 22 September while the Elite Women’s Road Race will kick off at 14.00 on Saturday 27 September.Unfortunately there will be no British entrant at the ITT, a controversial decision by British Cycling.
The road race will be broadcast live on BBC1 with the highlights of the ITT also shown at that time.
If you are keen to catch Tuesday’s action live, then fear not, you can watch it live on the UCI’s You Tube channel. There will also be live tweeting on Twitter via on Twitter via @UCI_cycling and @Ttlwomenscycling the#Ponferrada2014 hashtag. Sarah Connolly is also another fantastic person to follow thanks to her encyclopaedic knowledge of women’s cycling.
