Cycletta – the female only cycling series is back with bang for 2014, with 6 events nationwide and longer distances on offer, there’s definitely something for everyone this year!
1. Macmillan Cycletta @ Wiggle Dragon Ride: Sunday 8th June
Where? Margam Country Park, Port Talbot, South Wales
Distances on offer? 45km
This Macmillan Cycletta at the Wiggle Dragon Ride will be slightly hillier than the usual Macmillan Cycletta rides meaning it will be more of a challenge if you have done previous Macmillan Cycletta events. The 2014 event will follow the same 45km (approximate) route as the Corto riders.
2. Macmillan Cycletta Bedfordshire: Sunday 29th June
Where? Woburn Abbey
Distances on offer? 20km, 40km, 70km
Macmillan Cycletta Bedfordshire returns to the stunning Woburn Abbey for a third year, after a hugely successful 2013 event.
The Scootathlon @ Macmillan Cycletta Bedfordshire is a mini fun triathlon for children between the ages of 4 and 8 where they scoot, bike and run. This will take place on the same day as the Macmillan Cycletta event so there will be something fun and entertaining for the kids to try while you take on a Macmillan Cycletta ride.
3. Macmillan Cycletta New Forest: Sunday 21st September
Where? Beaulieu Palace
Distances on offer? 20km, 40km, 70km AND Macmillan Cycletta 100km
Macmillan Cycletta New Forest launched spectacularly in 2012. This event starts at the incredibly beautiful Beaulieu Palace before taking in the stunning surrounding roads.
New for 2014, the event organisers are now offering a new longer route of 100km, created due to demand from the Macmillan Cycletta audience for a longer women-only cycle route.
There’s also a Scootathlon at the New Forest Cycletta event, so don’t forget to bring your little ones along to be entertained.
4. Macmillan Cycletta Cheshire: Sunday 28th September
Where? Tatton Park
Distances on offer? 20km, 40km, 60km
Macmillan Cycletta Cheshire is one of the most popular events in the series. Starting from the picturesque Tatton Park the routes take in the quiet and beautiful roads around East Cheshire.
As well as another Scootathlon, you’ll be well looked after by the event organisers with goody bags, mechanical support, and all the usual amenities you require!
5. Macmillan Cycletta Scotland: Sunday 5th October
Where? Scone Palace
Distances on offer? 20km, 40km, 70km AND Macmillan Cycletta 100km
Macmillan Cycletta arrived at Scone Palace, near Perth for the first time in 2013 and the event attracted a high number of participants. So, why not get in on the action this year and sign up NOW!
All four distances are available, including the ALL NEW Macmillan Cycletta 100km and even the little ones are invited to get involved with the Scootathlon.
6. Macmillan Cycletta Surrey: Sunday 12th October
Where? Loseley Park
Distances on offer? 20km, 40km, 60km
Macmillan Cycletta headed to Loseley Park, Surrey for the first time in 2013. Across all locations, you’ll be treated to a wonderful day, with regular and well stocked feed stops along the route, fantastic goodie-bags, friendly and knowledgeable marshals and buzzing event villages.
The Macmillan Cycletta Spa by Unlisted will also be providing a complimentary spa experience for all entrants after each of the events. Plus, another Scootathlon will be happening at the Surrey Macmillan Cycletta!
