Friends of Herne Hill Velodrome have teamed up with MuleBarGirl-Sigma Sport to create an exciting Valentines’s Day cycle speed-dating event to help you find your dream cycling partner!
All you need is your own road bike and they will get you out riding on the Velodrome track in a safe and fun environment, leaving you with nothing to worry about other than turning your pedals and looking for love!
How it works…
- Date: Friday 14 February
- Time: 7pm
- Price: £15 plus booking fee
- Spaces: limited to 15 girls and 15 boys (must be 18+)
- Bike: Road bike or single speed – no track bikes allowed for this session
- Entry: only via Rider HQ
What to expect:
Riders must have booked in advance and be 18 or over
When you arrive you will be welcomed, checked in and given a personalised numbered name badge
After a equipment check and a safety briefing by your British Cycling qualified coach you’ll be good to start riding on the velodrome.
Don’t be worried about riding on the track. The gradient is nowhere near as steep as the slope that you’ll have seen on the track used during the Olympics. Novices are taught on the track all the time.
During the session games and challenges will be put on so you will have plenty of opportunity to interact and chat with each of the riders taking part.
After the session ends you will be given a form to complete. The form will ask you to place a tick next to any of the participants you’ve enjoyed chatting to.
You will have the option to suggest whether your interest is purely social or more romantic…
You’ll need to hand the form back to the event organiser. Then soon after the event, if any of your feedback has positively matched that of the other participants the organisers will send you their contact details by email and you can get in touch with them at your own
