Women’s cycling grew substantially over 2014 – with the addition of the Women’s Tour and La Course, taking place on the final day of the Tour de France.
Impressive crowds gathered for the Women’s Tour – one of few events where women take the stage alone, and 25 broadcasters showed TV coverage of La Course.
The Most Memorable Road Cycling Moments 2014
This success has proved the public want to see women race bikes, and for 2015 there will even be an expansion of the Tour of California to 4 days of competition.
