Where to Ride Road: Snowdonia

New road cycle routes open in the picturesque North Wales setting

Rolling hills, flowing roads and all the country beauty you can take in. That’s what you can expect from the new road cycle routes opening up in Snowdonia.

North Wales is famed for both it’s road and off-road cycling. Having a wide variety of technical climbs, undulating roads and sweeping descents. There’s something here for every ability of rider, for every chosen cycle discipline.

With the rapidly growing industry, cycling has grown in popularity with more men, women and children hopping on two wheels and finding adventure.

It’s the year of adventure in Wales, and to celebrate this and National Bike week next week, Snowdonia sees the launch of two new road cycle routes.

Brailsford Way

The Brailsford Way is a new road cycling route being launched this weekend in line with the Snowdonia Etape on Sunday June 12th.

The route has been named after Sky Team Principal Dave Sir Dave Brailsford, who used to cycle these same routes in his youth.

There’s two distances to choose from, a 50 mile route for aimed at more entry level riders, while the 70 mile route is suited for more intermediate cyclists.

The new signposted routes take you through some of the most beautiful landscapes that North Wales has to offer. Passing through stunning towns and villages such as Llanberis, Penygroes and a lovely coastal section to take your breath away

With additional routes in the pipeline to expand the vast cycling network, Snowdonia remains a popular destination for all cyclists.
