The Best Tweets of the Giro Rosa 2016 So Far

The 10 day race is four days in - that's almost half way! Here are some of the best tweets so far

The Giro Rosa is the longest stage race in the pro women’s calendar and it’s taking place in Italy right now.

Having kicked off on Friday, and holding its first full length stage on the same day as the Tour de France began, we can’t help but feel the spectacle of women’s cycling is being slightly overshadowed by the French favourite.

TV coverage, though it does exist, has been limited – though there have been some handy highlights videos from the UCI.

Regardless of the mainstream media’s coverage, the Giro Rosa is a stunning annual celebration of what the women’s peloton is capable of. Though we’re having to sift through the #TdF updates to find information, the Italian epic with its loveable character has certainly been shining.

Here are some of our favourite mentions documenting the race so far…

Prologue winner, Leah Kirchmann celebrated her birthday just before her win

Kirchmann was super excited to enjoy a day in Pink during Stage One, at her first Giro…

After the first stage – Canyon//SRAM’s Tiffany Crowell wasn’t too impressed with the accuracy of the race guide (a well documented trait of this event!)

And also isn’t a huge fan of the food…

Returning to that profile convo – Cromwell wasn’t the only one who was surprised…

And there’s plenty more lumpy terrain to come –

Currently Boels-Dolmans have Evelyn Stevens in the lead. They’re all about the Team – as long as one of them is in pink, they’re happy..

And current race leader, Evelyn Stevens doesn’t seem to have changed much since last year…

Stage three winner, Chloe Hosking was thrilled with her result…

It’s even better when you see a team working together to get the best result possible, too.

We’re following the race here – keep checking back for daily updates.
