This is a bit of a different jersey, I’ve certainly never seen anything similar before and as soon as it came out of the wrapper it gained admiring glances from my other half and then again whilst out riding. If I’m honest I wasn’t too sure to begin with, probably because I tend to go for plainer designs, but it’s definitely grown on me, is a lovely jersey to wear and it matches my bike 😉
The GT part stands for globe trotter and is the brainchild of Russ Jones who owns a music production company of the same name and is a keen cyclist too. He has developed a range of colourful cycling jerseys, some of which are available in both ladies and men’s sizes. Hats off straight away for no shrinking and pinking!
I wore a medium womens and as a UK 10 it proved to be a good fit. A good length in the body with grippers around the waist to keep the jersey firmly in place throughout the day. The arms whilst not being tight were snug and a perfect fit, but with my pipe cleaners this could prove to be an issue for those with anything resembling a muscle.
I wore the jersey on a warm sunny day over a mesh type base and it felt comfortable against the skin and wicked away sweat very well. The full length zip proved to be useful during long climbs too. It has three well spaced pockets in a contrasting colour with the middle being slightly wider, the outer pockets still being large enough to take a pair of arm warmers and a gilet. A reflective strip under the pockets is a nice touch but a zipped key pocket would be a welcome addition.
All in all it is a striking, well made jersey that is ideal for those looking for something a little different.
