dhb is a UK based brand that has a great selection of ladies kit to cover all budgets. The Section jersey is aimed at the commuter/leisure rider and definitely fits the bill. I’ve got to be honest, being a competitive cyclist, this wouldn’t be my normal choice of jersey or colour (although it is also available in black and red). On close inspection however this little top is packed full of features, some of which aren’t found on much more technical jerseys. Take into account the price too and it becomes even more impressive.
I tested a UK size 10 and as a slim 5ft 6″ it was a very flattering fit. The fabric felt a lot softer on than it looked and was fairly breathable. dhb use high wicking, odour resistant fabric and this along with underarm vented panels meant that the jersey kept me reasonably cool when out for a spin. It proved to be a little too hot to use indoors on the rollers though! The jersey has a neck zip rather than a full length one, as a rule I tend to prefer full length so I can regulate airflow more but this comes down to personal preference and as a leisure top this shouldn’t be so much of an issue.
The rear pockets are very well thought out, three nicely sized drop pockets plus an extra zipped middle pocket with a waterproof and sweat resistant lining. Great for keeping keys, cards and money dry. A rear silicone gripper keeps the jersey nicely in place too.
The dhb logos on the front and neck of the jersey are both reflective, with further strips on the sides and shoulders to ensure you’re visible if the commute home is a little later than expected.
All in all a cracking little top that offers excellent value for money, even more so at present with it being half price on Wiggle.
