4. Great Dun Fell, Cumbria
Ah, finally a bit of length! The Great Dun Fell has quickly garnered a reputation for being a climber’s dream, providing 7.5km of ascent with the latter section being traffic free.

It’s a gruelling ride, with a false flat thrown in for extra cruelty. It works out as a 7.7 percent gradient overall, with plenty of peaks and troughs to keep even the most masochistic of you entertained throughout.
