9. Ffordd Penlech, Harlech
That’s right ladies, we eventually had to get to Ffordd Penlech – officially the UK’s steepest road with a maximum 40 per cent gradient over 300m.
How to Lose Weight While Fuelling Your Ride
It is, of course, NOT OPEN to cyclists. Traffic is only permitted to descend on this road. But cyclists are a rare breed of insane human who often attempt things despite not being allowed to. Check out the Strava league table for evidence.
And remember not to get too down and out about the restrictions – there’s a 25 per cent incline nearby that’s open to all. Easy.
