Watch two of the world’s best cyclists battle it out for victory on the wooden boards of the Olympic Velodrome as they compete in the opening round of the 2014 Revolution Series.

It’s going to be an epic event, as World Champion track cyclist Laura Trott takes on World Champion road cyclist Marianne Vos. Vos has had an incredible season on the road, clocking up yet more victories at races like the Friends Life Women’s Tour which took place in the UK in May. Trott likewise is on amazing form, overcoming illness to take Gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Last year, Trott swept the board with victories in each round of the series. Can Vos give her a run for her money?

They will be racing at the first event in the Revolution Series, a national track cycling race series that aims to provide a competitive environment for Britain’s best track cyclists. The events are UCI accredited, which means racers have the chance to pick up crucial UCI points.

Spectating at the Revolution Series is a guaranteed exciting experience, with the chance to watch thrilling world class cycling up close and personal.

If you are in any doubt, Vos herself had this to say: “Having competed at the Revolution Series in Manchester a couple of years ago, I know first-hand how electrifying the racing is, and coming back to London to complete in the Olympic Velodrome against the best British riders is an exciting challenge. I’ve had a strong set of results on the road over the summer, so I’m looking to repeat that as we get onto the track.”

Trott adds “The atmosphere and support from the fans at each Revolution event is always unbelievable, especially when we are back in the Lee Valley VeloPark. Add the UCI points into the mix, and there is a lot to cycle for in this year’s series.”

Round 1 takes place on October 24th and 25th at the Lee Valley VeloPark at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and tickets are only £15.

A further 5 events see the action spread to Manchester and Glasgow, so there are plenty of opportunities to pop along and watch across the country.
