Laura Trott comes out on top at London Revolution Series

Vos places third in the UCI Omnium after Brits Trott and Archibald take first and second

Saturday night saw Laura Trott sweep to victory in the UCI Omnium with six out of a possible six wins at the London Revolution Series event.

Trott competed against Olympic Road Race champion Marianne Vos on the track for the first time ever during the weekend, with the presence of both heavy-weights sending the crowd into a frenzy. Vos ended up in third place on the podium, behind Glasgow up-and-comer (and pink hair inspiration) Katie Archibald.

When we interviewed Trott last month she said: “Hopefully [Vos and I] can showcase what women’s cycling is really about.” Unsurprisingly, their showdown clearly demonstrated how exciting women’s track can be – a tactical Vos looked particularly predatory during the 25km points race, but was ultimately beaten by the Brit.

And while we were in the velodrome, we managed to catch a few minutes with Vos to ask her for some Winter training tips.
