All eyes are on Fort William as the world’s best four cross and downhill riders have descended on Scotland for the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.
Fort William is widely thought to be the best event on the entire downhill circuit, with the UCI World Cup continually returning to the Scottish venue since the first World Cup race was held here in 2002.
Emmeline Ragot took the winning honours in 2012 in wet conditions but all the riders will be glad to see the dry course at the event this year.
It’s great news for Rachel Atherton who has just won in the qualifying round today, with a massive 6 second gap between her and last years winner Ragot.
Have a look here for the full results of the Women’s Qualifying Round.
To whet your appetite for the finale on Sunday, we’ve got snapshots of the female riders taking part in this years World Cup, tackling the course in training on Friday, courtesy of Alastair Johnstone.
